"Indian Wars": Introduction

Agenda 11/16-17:

1. Students turned in and shared their letters about the US Mexican War.
2. I reviewed the details of the war.
3. Students listened to several songs and developed some observations of Native Americans in history. [see below]
4. I referred students to several types of conflicts present in the "Indian Wars". [see below]
5. Students began working on maps of the "Indian Wars". They added the Transcontinental Railroad, Mexico as of 1835, and the Sand Creek Massacre.
6. Students watched a clip about the Sand Creek Massacre and took notes on the back side of their maps.
