Native American Stereotypes

Agenda 11/19:

1. Students listened to several songs dealing with Native Americans. We discussed the stereotypes in the songs and imagery in the videos.
2. Students discussed whether or not Cleveland should change the name of its mascot from Warriors.
3. Students began watch the film, Reel Injun, about portrayals of Native Americans in films.

Agenda 11/21:

1. Students finished watching Reel Injun. 
2. I discussed several different historical interpretations of Westward Expansion.
3. Students read an article from 1839 which introduced the concept of Manifest Destiny.
