Students took the quiz over the first Chapter of Howard Zinn's People's History of the United States. After they wrote definitions of patriotism. We watched a video of Toby Keith's song, The Angry American, and of Jimi Hendrix's performance of the Star Spangled Banner. We ended our discussion of patriotism by reading the introduction from the book, A Patriot's History of the United States, by Larry Schweikart and Michael Allen.
