The Conquest of Latin America

Agenda:

1. I showed the students a children's book about Columbus. They compared it to what the had learned for other sources.
2. I showed an article investigating the Taino culture which was thought to have been exterminated after contact with Europeans.
3. Students discussed the Introduction and Chapter 1 of Born in Blood and Fire. After, I reviewed the chapter, noting key terms. 
4. Last students viewed a presentation about the major civilizations of Latin America (below).
