- Students took vocab quiz over the unit, Development of Modern Nations.
- Students read an article about conditions on the Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota. They took notes and wrote a reflection and questions from the text.
- Students were given an assignment to answer some of their questions that had come out of the reading.
- I began a lecture about the "Indian Wars", covering The Sand Creek Massacre, Red Cloud's War, The Fetterman "Massacre", The 1868 Fort Laramie Treaty, and The Battle of the Little Big Horn / Greasy Grass, the Nez Perce Trail, the Dawes Act, Ghost Dance, and Wounded Knee Massacre. Students took notes. If you were gone, do some research to learn about these events.
