Guatemala 1954

Agenda 4/13-14:

1. Students examined the poem/song La United Fruit by Pablo Neruda. Students "tagged" the text. LA = references to Latin America, US = references to the US.
2. Students read several excerpts from Memory of Fire by Eduardo Galeano about the 1954 coup in Guatemala.
3. Students listened to a podcast about the involvement of the CIA in the coup.
4. They wrote words and images throughout the lesson using this worksheet.
