Sherman's March and the Assassination

Agenda 11/16:

1. I talked about different types of warfare, focusing on total war and its use  by William Sherman during his march to the sea.
2. Students read an interpreted a letter from Sherman to the mayor of Atlanta, illustrating his thoughts on the nature of warfare.
3. Students watched two clips from the Ken Burns documentary, The Civil War. One dealing with Sherman's march, the other with the end of the war and Lincoln's assassination.
