2. Students watched clips from the film Buried Mirror about Latin American Independence movements - specifically those led by Simon Bolivar and Jose de San Martin. They took notes from the film and chapter 3 of BBF. Notetaking was focused on several questions:
• What events and ideas influence independence movements in Latin America?
• Compare the military campaigns, leadership, and philosophies of Bolivar and San Martin.
• How did the ideals of the independence movements match the realities.
