- Students organized examples of Jim Crow into de facto and de jure forms of discrimination.
- Students learned about the murder of Emmett Till and how it was a catalyst for the Civil Rights Movement. They listened to two Bob Dylan songs.
- Students began watching a series of video clips, from the documentary Eyes on the Prize, focusing on major events in the Civil Rights Movement. Students focused on several events between 1954 and 1964. They wrote their notes on this map.
- After learning about the Little Rock Nine, students listened to this podcast about issues involving school segregation from 2013.
