Introduction to Women's Movements

Over the past few lessons, students have been thinking about current issues concerning women and gender. Below is a list of activities and assignments.

1. Students watched the film Miss Representation. They researched about wrote about gender in media and society.
2. Students learned about the #metoo movement reading several articles.
3. Students also discussed catcalling.
4. Students read about women in early America from The People's History, Chapter 6. They answered these questions as they read.
5. Students examined prostitution in the West and discussed whether or not prostitutes were on the forefront of women's movements.
