The Cold War: The Cuban Revolution

Agenda:

1. Students participated in a mixer activity about people from Cuba's history. They 
2. Students learned about the Spanish American war and US involvement in Cuba [below]. Here are my lecture notes.
3. Students learned about life in Cuba prior to the 1959 Revolution led by Fidel Castro. They watched the first 15-20 minutes from a documentary about Fidel Castro [below].
4. Students watched a series clips about the events of the revolution from 1956-1959 and read a section from Born in Blood and Fire, answering these questions.
5. Students looked at the figure of Che Guevara and made a poster presenting one depiction of who he was or might have been.
6. Students learned about the Bay of Pigs Invasion and Cuban Missile Crisis [below].
