Manifest Destiny

Last two class agendas:

1. Students looked at a series of paintings depicting Westward Expansion. [below]
2. I discussed the term Westward Expansion and introduced the idea of Eastward Contraction.
3. Students looked at a series of photos of the West from the mid 1800s.
4. Students read and summarized a document from the era, justifying expansion and Manifest Destiny.
