- Students watched the first 24 minutes from the PBS documentary Vietnam: The Televised War - Roots of the War [below], taking notes about the country's history of fighting for independence from the Chinese, Japanese, and French.
- Students participated in a role play about Vietnam in 1945. Students were either a representative of France or Vietnam and attempted to persuade President Truman (Mr. Graham) to pursue a certain course of action regarding Vietnamese Independence.
