Guns, Germs, and Steel - Conquest

I was out on Monday. Students watched the documentary Guns, Germs, and Steel. After viewing they responded to and discussed the following questions:

1. Using a T-chart keep track of characteristics and qualities of the Spaniards and the Inca.
2. (After or during the film) Explain Jared Diamond's theory of 'Geographic Luck'.
3. How does Geographic Luck relate to improved and superior technologies?
4. Use your T-chart and explain using examples from the film.
1. What technologies did the Spaniards possess that gave them an advantage over the Inca?
2. Why did they have these technologies when the Inca did not?
3. Was it because they were intellectually superior?
