The Closing of the Frontier
Today students studied the end of the 19th century. Students watched a brief video about the final armed confrontations with Native Americans, the dispossession of their land and the forced migration on to reservations. After students read about new technologies and philosophies emerging within the dominant culture as these two vastly different worlds collided.
