The Civil Rights Movement

Agenda 5/25:
  1. Students read a first person account of a sit in. Students then discussed the effectiveness of non-violent protest.
  2. Students watched a clip from episode four of the documentary Eyes on the Prize: Ain't No Easy Walk. They watched from around 23:00 - 43:00, focusing on the Birmingham Campaign.
  3. Students read and watched Martin Luther King Jr.'s I Have a Dream speech from the 1963 March on Washington.
