On Monday, students took a quiz over the first chapter in Howard Zinn's People's History of the United States. After, they compared and contrasted the introduction from Michael Allen and Larry Schweikart's Patriots History of the United States and an article by Zinn titled, Unsung Heroes.
The class discussed differing versions of American history, bias, and source selection in writing history. To finish, students took notes on the powerpoint below. The historical dialectic illustrates how history is changing and dependent upon interpretation.
