Students discussed racial equality, defining it and sharing their perspectives on racial equality in Oregon.Students also took a wealth and privilege audit, using the questions from the powerpoint below. Students then read an article about housing discrimination in Beaverton and discussed a recent police shooting in Portland. It was a lively and diverse discussion!
Today, students will be examining the history of racial housing discrimination and segregation through the film, Race: The Power of Illusion.
