Today we finished our discussion about the morality, necessity and the Atomic bomb. Students watched this clip, reinterpreting the effects of the bomb on Hiroshima.
Students then read this article and wrote down a list of justifications for the use of the bomb. We then listened to two songs: Masters of War, by Bob Dylan and War Pigs, by Black Sabbath. Students were asked to interpret the meanings of the songs in relation to our conversation about WWII. After the songs, students read Dwight Eisenhower's farewell address and began watching the film, Why We Fight:
