First, students finished reading the different accounts of the Spanish American war and wrote their own short summary.
Students then looked at Social Darwinism through Rudyard Kipling's poem, The White Man's Burden. Students wrote a response poem. Students then watched a film about US and Latin American relations at the beginning of the 20th century. The film is below:
