Spanish American War

Students simulated a 1898 meeting of "concerned townspeople" over the issues of the annexation of the Philippines after the Spanish American War. They debated three different policy options:

1. Control and annex the country
2. Do not control and annex the country
3. Use the "open door" policy to secure trade in the East
