Today students learned about events in the early part of the Civil Rights movement. Students viewed slides and watched clips from Eyes on the Prize, focusing on: The Montgomery Bus Boycott, Little Rock Nine, Sit-ins, Freedom Rides, Birmingham Campaign, the March on Washington, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
HOMEWORK:
Read MLK or Malcolm X packet. Highlight and take notes on each leader's philosophy, view of America, and strategies they advocated. You will write a dialogue with a partner. DUE - Wed 5/6
