QUIZ: Women's Movement

There will be a quiz next Thursday/Friday, 3/8-9 over the unit on the Women's Movement. Students will be expected to answer two of the following prompts at random. There will also be a document analysis section.
  • Identify and evaluate several arguments for and against women's suffrage from the early 1900s.
  • Identify and explain gender roles in Victorian society. Explain several ways in which women in the West had more opportunity than those in the dominant Victorian society.
  • Discuss the purpose and outcomes of the Seneca Falls convention.
  • "The Women's Suffrage movement was a cohesive movement that generally employed one approach to gaining the right to vote." To what extent do you agree with this statement?
  • "Women's contributions in the Civil War were limited to support roles like farming, overseeing slaves, and sewing." To what extent to you agree with this statement? Provide evidence in your answer.
