1. I explained the Columbian Exchange to students. They took notes and watched a Crash Course [below].
2. Students looked at the controversy surround the statue of conquistador Don Juan Onate in El Paso, Texas. Students thought from the perspective of a city council member. After, students had a discussion about the worth of government-funded artwork.
