The Murder of Emmett Till

Agenda 5/10-11:
  1. Students organized examples of Jim Crow into de facto and de jure forms of discrimination. Students wrote a 7-10 line "story" about life under Jim Crow
  2. Students learned about the murder of Emmett Till and how it was a catalyst for the Civil Rights Movement. They listened to two Bob Dylan songs.
  3. Students watched the first 20 minutes of Eyes on the Prize: Awakenings, through the murder of Emmett Till.
