Westward Expansion/Eastern Contraction

Agenda 11/2-11/6:

1. Reconstruction Quiz
2. Students completed a self-assessment using the IB Learner profile. I began one on one conferences with each student.
3. Students watched a short documentary about recent developments in the Ku Klux Klan.
4. Students brainstormed their prior knowledge about "Westward Expansion".
5. Students read and article about current conditions on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Students selected three passages and commented on them. After, students selected one of the people in the story and filled out a chart about this person.
6. Students watched a TED talk from the photographer on the story.
