The End of the Indian Wars

Agenda 1/5-9:

Students continued to learn about the Indian wars.

1. Students watched film explaining several major events in the Indian wars. They focused on: The Nez Perce trail, Dawes Act, Ghost Dance, and Wounded Knee. They added their notes to this worksheet.
2. Students read two articles. One dealing with the Dawes Act and one about Indian boarding schools and attempts to forcefully assimilate Native Americans. They took notes using this worksheet.
3. Students also debated different policy options the government had regarding relations with Native American tribes.
