Election of 1860

Agenda 10/28-29:

1. I finished a lecture about the events preceding the Civil War.
2. Students participated in a simulation of the 1860 presidential election. 
3. Students watched several clips from the Ken Burns documentary The Civil War.
4. Students thought about common interpretations and generalizations about Abraham Lincoln. [see below] Students read the Emancipation Proclamation and analyzed it as a military strategy.
