I talked briefly about the election and answered student questions. Students then considered the questions, "Would a slave be justified in killing his or her master? Why or why not?". Students then viewed a selection from a graphic novel about the slave rebellion of Nat Turner.
I then gave a brief lecture about major events leading to the Civil War.
