African American Reformers and the Great Migration

Agenda 3/20:

1. In groups, students compared and contrasted the experiences, goals, and means advocated by W.E.B. DuBois, Marcus Garvey, and Booker T. Washington. After working in groups, we discussed as a class.
2. Students viewed a series of paintings by Jacob Lawrence about the Great Migration.
3. Students listened to an interview with author Isabel Wilkerson about her book, The Warmth of Other Suns.
