Independence in Latin America

Yesterday students continued working on comparing independence movements. They focused on Brazil and The United States. Information on Brazilian independence can be found on pages 102-106 of Born in Blood and Fire. Students used textbooks to remind themselves of the causes, course, and conclusions of the American Revolution. At the end of the period, students looked a a selection of documents dealing with the Haitian Revolution.
