Today students looked at a series of paintings depicting Westward Expansion. Students discussed the symbolism and messages of the paintings. Students then read this article from 1839 in which the term Manifest Destiny was famously introduced. Students took notes on the main points of the article, keeping in mind the perspective of the author.HOMEWORK:
